Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte To Debut Earlier Than Ever This Year
Sure, much of the United States is still feeling pretty summery right about now, but never fear, fans of fall — the Pumpkin Spice Latte will be hitting your Starbucks counter very soon, reports Business Insider. According to their sources (unnamed Sbux employees), the iconic coffee drink will arrive for the 2019 fall season on Tuesday, August 27, which would make it the earliest launch date ever. Don't forget, this would be nearly a full month before the actual first day of fall.
Business Insider also reports that in the past, this classic drink has been technically available earlier. In 2014, Starbucks customers in the know could order it on August 26, but it wasn't officially on the menu until September 2. This year's official launch date (again, reportedly August 27) would eclipse 2018's launch date (which was also pretty dang early) by one day.
Once you have a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand, keep in mind that this means the rest of the year is going to fly by, because kids are already going back to school, then you have Halloween and Thanksgiving, and might as well start your Christmas shopping now because it will be here before you know it. Also, Happy New Year.
Starbucks has yet to confirm this early launch date, but hopes are high that the Starbucks employees with insider info are right and pumpkin spice will be back in your hands before you know it.
The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte has long been known as the coffee drink that ushers in the fall season, and this will be the 17th year for the warm cup of autumn flavor. If you're still sweltering in the hot and humid south or midwest, never fear — you can get that same flavor in an iced coffee, or even in a Frappuccino. But is fall really on its way if you don't snuggle up with a hot PSL in hand?
