What Happened To Chick-Fil-A's Cheesecake?
Chick-fil-A's Icedream cones are likely the first dessert that comes to mind when the restaurant is brought up in conversation. In 2019, the sweet vanilla treat was among the most ordered items on the chain's menu. However, there was a time when other sweets were vying for the top spot. Believe it or not, cheesecake was one such contender for many years. That is, until 2012 when Chick-fil-A's cheesecake, as well as its lemon pie, were pulled from the menu to make space for a new assortment of desserts.
The new lineup included specialty and miniature Icedream sundaes, classic fudge brownies, and chocolate-chunk cookies. Although the cookie and brownie remain today, the sundaes have been eliminated, thus leaving only milkshakes, cones, and cups for Icedream lovers. There's no need to worry, however — you can still use a clever menu hack to get a mini Chick-fil-A sundae.
As far as cheesecake is concerned, no hack has been found, and there's been no hint toward its potential return. But this isn't for the lack of trying, because if one thing's for sure, customers didn't watch Chick-fil-A's cheesecake go without a fight.
Fans rallied - and still wish - for the cheesecake's return
Shortly after cheesecake was dropped from the menu, Facebook users created a page appropriately called "iwantcfacheesecakeandlemonpie." During the two years it remained active, the page had gained nearly 250 likes. In a less successful attempt, a petition calling for the revival of cheesecake was posted to Change.org. Sadly, the cause was only able to draw in 23 supporters.
Those instances came within a year of the cheesecake's departure, but even more recently, nostalgic customers are wishing for it back. In the summer of 2022, a TikToker posted a video quoting what others might say to her if they knew how much she missed the cheesecake. "It's been gone for 10 years, nobody even remembers it. Get over it," the video reads. Sweet-loving Twitter users are also feeling the pain. "I remember when Chick-fil-A had cheesecake ... I was so mad they stopped selling it," read one post. Some social media users are expressing their sadness, while others are asking if they're the only one who remembers it.
It's been over a decade since cheesecake slices could be ordered from Chick-fil-A, so if truth be told, the odds of their return aren't looking so great. But, stranger things have happened, and if they do in this instance, we'd be sure to let you know.
