There's A Themed Dining Experience That Lets You Taste Movies

There are certain iconic movie theater snacks, like popcorn, that we reach for time and time again when watching a flick. However, there's just something extra special about chowing down on a meal or snacks that fit the theme of your movie — it adds an extra layer of immersion like you're truly in the world of the film.

If you've ever been inspired by a culinary creation you spotted on screen, or have even been tempted to buy a cookbook that contains recipes from one of your favorite films, there's a unique dining experience that you absolutely need to try. Although unfortunately, it appears to only be accessible in London; so, depending on where in the world you're located, you may need to take a bit of a journey if you're interested in attending.

Taste Film brings you into the world of a particular film by curating a space, as well as a menu and a full dining experience, that you can enjoy as the film plays. We're not talking about getting dinner and then watching a movie — dishes are served at particular intervals during the film which coincide with what's happening on screen.

And, there's quite a bit of variety in options. Currently, tickets are being sold for "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," "Clueless," "Bridesmaids," and "Chef." So, whatever genre you prefer, you'll probably eventually spot a film you'd want to pair with some culinary creativity.

A peek at the themed dining experience in action

TikTok user @gracebooth97 attended one of Taste Film's events and gave a peek into what it was actually like — including shots of many of the dishes served — and she had a rave review of her overall experience. She attended an event for "Ratatouille," a culinary-focused flick that seems perfectly suited to a fully immersive experience. The offerings included everything from a petite portion of soup — that attendees could top as desired with cheese and croutons, getting in touch with their own inner chef — to, of course, a classic plate of ratatouille (If you're looking to craft your own at home, we have an easy ratatouille recipe to try).

Even the setting seemed well thought-out, with chic brass lamps and white tablecloths that seemed to capture a similar ambiance to the dining room of the restaurant where Alfredo Linguini Gusteau (and his pint-sized partner, Remy) work at.

The unique experience seems to have struck a nerve with many TikTok users, as the simple post racked up 2.1 million likes and over 39,200 shares. There were also over 8,000 comments, with many proclaiming how much they'd want to check out this kind of dining experience, while others weighed in on the movie they'd want to see paired with a menu for Taste Film.
