Unfortunately, People Can And Do Order Raw Fries From In-N-Out's Secret Menu

In-N-Out Burger just might be the friendliest chain when it comes to customization, especially of fries. It might not be widely known, but the California-based brand offers six different types of fries outside of the original, which are each explained by We Like LA. If you prefer a crispier type of fry, opt for the grease-laden, well-done variety, and if you want them cooked even longer than that, you can order your fries extra well-done. Another option is light well-done, which are cooked a bit longer than the original though not quite as much as the aforementioned options. Cheese fries are self-explanatory, with melted cheese on top, and the popular Animal Style fries are topped with grilled onions, cheese, and a signature sauce.

None of these sound too off the wall, until you learn about the undercooked, un-crispy light fries. Revealed to Serious Eats by an In-N-Out cashier named Thomas, this variety is loaded with grease and flops over in your hand. Furthermore, one frequent consumer enjoys their fries nearly raw, having only cooked for two minutes. This might not sound appealing to you, but Twitter has proved that each person has a different palate.

Most people claim to enjoy fries light

One quick search of Twitter proves that numerous In-N-Out customers are fans of light fries. "[I like] ordering fries lite at In-N-Out so they're all soggy," revealed one Twitter user. Some other commenters recommended that others try this option on their next visit. "When you go to In-N-Out order them 'fries lite,'" suggested one poster, while another user wrote, "order it lite. Fries lite are MVP at In-N-Out."

As it turns out, light fries might be the redemption In-N-Out needs. When one Reddit user said the original fries "kinda suck," one user suggested light fries are the answer. "Next time try ordering fries light, that's the only way I get em now!" they wrote. The disapproval of In-N-Out fries as a whole doesn't appear to be an uncommon opinion. "They are the worst fast food fries out there," said one unhappy Reddit user. When it comes to light fries, maybe you shouldn't knock them before you try them. They just might be your new favorite menu item.
