The Easy Hack To Recreating Starbuck's Cake Pops At Home

Have you ever pulled into a Starbucks for your morning cup of joe and added a last-minute treat to your order? You're not alone if you frequent the chain specifically for your breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack. Even if it's not a good idea to start your day with breakfast at Starbucks, it doesn't stop customers from enjoying the variety of options at all times of the day. Lucky for those with a sweet tooth, Starbucks reimagined the classic coffee and cake pairing with its bite-sized cake pop. The cake pop concept was originally invented by the blogger Bakerella in 2008. After the cake on a stick's instant success, Starbucks followed suit, offering cake pops to the menu in 2010.

Depending on the time of year and location, you may find different selections of cake pops, but the standards are chocolate, cookies and cream, and birthday cake. While Starbucks cake pops can and should be enjoyed by all, you'd be hard-pressed to walk into a store and not see at least a few kids munching on a cake pop snack. The pink birthday cake pop is a fan favorite due to its adorably pink hue and tiny white sprinkles.

One cake pop can set you back around $3, which can add up quickly, especially if you're also purchasing a drink. Thanks to Tiktok, cake pop aficionados can use pink frosted sugar cookies for a no-bake version.

Make cake pops at home

While there are copycat Starbucks cake pop recipes out there that make a delicious dupe, there is some baking required. TikTok user, @fivefootfeminie shared her video where she flipped the switch on cake pops by crumbling up grocery store pink frosted sugar cookies as the "cake" pop base. She adds a package of softened cream cheese to the mix and forms tiny cake pop balls. You can dip the cake balls in melted white chocolate and douse them with sprinkles to get the full Starbucks cake pop effect.

Commenters on the video were quick to weigh in with their thoughts on the "better than Starbucks" cake pops. One user wrote, "Totally making these for my Easter party!" Although there was plenty of love, there were several users who were disgusted by the sugar cookies used in the cake. One person wrote, "These cookies make it an instant no ... those are the worst."

The store-bought cookies are very soft and cake-like and have the internet divided over whether the cookies are too sweet, have the texture of playdough, or are the best thing since sliced bread.
