Despite Conspiracy Theories Raging, McDonald's French Fries Sizes Are All Different
Over the last several years, many people have accused McDonald's of being less-than-generous with its fries. Sure, it would be one thing if these were all just rumors –- and some of them are –- but some indeed have a basis in truth. In 2017, for instance, McDonald's denied claims that it was cheating customers out of fries. However, Reddit users, who claimed to work at McDonald's, confirmed that they had been instructed to use the pinch technique to avoid entirely filling fry cartons.
Another McDonald's fry rumor is that each container size is actually the same. Customers argue that, while the cartons may differ slightly in size, each carton receives the same amount of fries. As such, customers buying a large fry are cheated out of money and fries, and that's definitely not cool if it's true. But with that being said, a TikToker recently demonstrated that each carton size does actually come with a different amount of fries.
TikToker proves latest McDonald's fry rumor wrong
Though a few McDonald's conspiracy theories have proven correct, the theory regarding fry sizes all being the same is looking pretty shaky. A McDonald's employee named Livy provided a thorough demonstration on TikTok of how a single amount of fries looks in each of the different-sized cartons.
After pouring a medium fry into a large carton and showing that the carton was only about half full, she said, "That's all you get from a medium." She then filled the carton to how a customer would receive it –- considerably fuller, if you ask us -– before giving the camera a thumbs up and rolling her eyes. However, several TikTok users claimed their cartons were never full. One user wrote, "Yeah except they never get filled like that lol." Meanwhile, another user claimed responsibility for the missing fries, writing, "It's bc the person carrying the food eats your fries....I'm that person."

Based on other users' insistent comments that their fries were never that full, it's possible that whether or not McDonald's actually fills its cartons up varies by location. In that case, if you really want the best bang for your buck, you should probably only order the large fry at McDonald's.
