Burger King's Latest Whopper Commercial Has The Internet In Shambles
Burger King is the iconic American burger chain known for its "Have It Your Way" slogan promoting the customizability of its burgers; its famous Whopper; and, finally, its wacky advertisements.
Its former mascot, The King, was the star of many of the advertisements, even appearing in three promotional video games released in 2006, which IGN reports were only available for purchase at Burger King locations. It retired The King officially in 2015 after realizing that perhaps creepy shock value has its limits, per CBR.
Burger King really is the king when it comes to reinventing its brand and switching around its marketing tactics, as the fast food giant manages to keep things fresh year after year. Toward the end of 2022, Burger King changed its approach to include a more diverse audience, as stated by QSR Magazine. This includes its new viral commercial that has the internet's ears ringing.
The Burger King commercial jingle we can't stop singing
Burger King's new viral commercial is on repeat across the country and people are divided as to whether or not the song is actually worthy of all the replays. The commercial itself currently has over 855,000 views on YouTube and draws some of its catchy rhythms from Burger King's original commercial from the '70s, as HITC reveals.
Some netizens can't get enough of the new song and are turning the catchy jingle into viral remixes and animations. Other internet users are entirely over it, and can't wait for the song to fade into the abyss of the internet, just like The King. One user on YouTube alluded to the feeling of the commercial being played during the Super Bowl commenting, "Imagine watching a player fight for his life and then the tv cuts to this." Much to the haters' dismay, at this point in time, there are several iterations of Burger King's Whopper song. Genius posted the lyrics to the commercial, including every version, each somehow catchier than the last.
