The 'Celebration Restaurant As A Kid' Tweet Crushing The Internet
Birthdays, good grades, and family gatherings are all occasions that children usually celebrate in a restaurant. When you're young, everything seems larger than life, and places that you think are out of this world become a bit more "regular" as you get older. Opened in 1977, Chuck E. Cheese is one pizzeria-con-arcade that has served many generations of children on their birthdays. The nostalgic brand still holds parties today, which include pizza and drinks for each child as well as game points and a party room.
Perhaps a bit more modern, yet still founded four decades ago, is Dave & Buster's. Per its website, the restaurant features a full menu as well as an extensive game room. Those celebrating parties here can choose between two packages, once which includes a buffet while the other features party platters fit for a child's appetite. Both packages come with game cards as well.
In December, a Twitter user asked adults what their childhood celebration restaurant was, and the answers show just how different your thought process can be at a young age.
Some responses were a blast from the past
Twitter user @ALNL asked users last month what restaurant they frequented during childhood celebrations. "What was the 'celebration restaurant' your family ate at when you were a child that you didn't realize was not, in fact, a 5-star establishment until you became an adult?" she began. "Ours was CiCi's Pizza." Though it felt like a huge occasion to the original poster as a kid, a buffet at the pizzeria averages no more than $6 apiece, per Menu-Price.Net.
Another user mentioned Ryan's, a buffet in which its owners declared bankruptcy in 2021 citing Covid-19 as the main culprit, according to FSR Magazine. User @ijbailey wrote, "Red Lobster was tops on the list," while @D_Derryberry wrote "Joe's Crab Shack. I would later find out it was because there was a playground my parents could drink beer at." The response definitely fit the theme regarding realizations as you grow up. Eventually, user @ALNL returned to the thread, hilariously asking "Those of you whose families only ever went to actual fancy places from jump...do you need someone to marry into your family?"
