Here's What Happened To Cow Wow After Shark Tank
Although an appearance on "Shark Tank" can give any small business a boost, not every business is built to last. For instance, for every Wicked Good Cupcakes, there's a Sweet Ballz -– which is to say, for every business that finds fame and success after "Shark Tank," there's one that doesn't.
Sadly, one such business is Cow Wow, which appeared on Season 5 of "Shark Tank." According to Shark Tank Tales, entrepreneurs Tiffany Panhilason and Chris Pouy pitched their idea for a cereal-flavored milk in 2014. They suggested that kids would be more willing to drink milk if it tasted like their favorite sugar-loaded cereals. (To be honest, we'd probably be down to drink Trix-flavored milk.)
As you've certainly surmised by now, Cow Wow did not leave "Shark Tank" with a deal. With an initial ask of $250k for 10% and a high-sugar content, Cow Wow was unfortunately not destined for greatness. That being said, where is the business now?
What exactly is Cow Wow milk?
We have to give Tiffany Panhilason and Chris Pouy some credit for a fun business name, but beyond that, Cow Wow didn't have much going for it, even back in 2014. Per the business's Instagram profile, Cow Wow was an "organic, all natural, low fat milk that tastes like the bottom of a bowl of your favorite cereal."
Sounds good, until you break Cow Wow down, as the sharks did. Investor Daymond John wasn't a fan of the nutritional breakdown, according to Shark Tank Blog, while Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary doubted the fledgling business could crack its way into an already saturated milk market.
As noted by Shark Tank Success, Cow Wow offered the additional benefits of being shelf-stable and being comparably priced to regular milk. However, the business struggled to create brand awareness, even after its appearance on "Shark Tank," and as we now know, the Cow Wow business is no longer running.
What happened to Cow Wow?
Unfortunately, it doesn't take a web sleuth to determine that Cow Wow went out of business shortly after its January 2014 appearance on "Shark Tank." Cow Wow's Twitter and Instagram haven't been updated since the fall of 2014, and its domain name is actually being sold by GoDaddy with a nifty little price tag of $9,888.
That being said, Cow Wow is still posted on Amazon -– but we wouldn't advise trying to buy eight-year-old milk, even if the seller was able to fulfill the order. Beyond the likelihood that any remaining Cow Wow milk is surely past its expiration date, the product just doesn't have a good rating on Amazon. Sure, one person gave it five stars and said it was "perfect," but the only other person to review Cow Wow gave it a single star. They described the product as "outrageously priced," and said its flavor was like "sweetened water with a weird flowery aftertaste." Sorry, Cow Wow, but we'll stick to saving our own cereal milk.
