The Portland Pizza Joint Voted The Best In The United States
Pizza fanatics rejoice because we got word of the best pizza joint in the United States. If you are a real fan of the meal, then you may know of David Portnoy, the host of One Bite Pizza. The BarStool founder has become notorious for his honest pizza reviews as he travels around the country. Although Portnoy names several restaurants in New York as the best in the pizza business (John's on Bleeker Street and Prince Street Pizza, per Men's Journal), Big 7 Travel just picked an Oregon restaurant to carry the second-best pizza in the world.
When you talk about world pizza ratings, it's not surprising that the number one rated slice is in Italy. Naples, Italy, to be exact, at a restaurant named, 10 by Diego for its classic margarita and marinara menu item. With a European country taking the first spot, which restaurant is second best? Well, Big 7 Travel deemed one pizzeria in Portland, Oregon worthy of the number two spot out of 50 others.
Ken's Artisan Pizza offers 12-inch pies
Big 7 Travel named Ken's Artisan Pizza as the top pizza in the world. The restaurant sells wood-fired oven pizzas that are inspired by Italian-American cuisine. The pizza joint offers "long fermented dough, hand-stretched mozzarella, Italian tomatoes, and excellent toppings, baked with a blistered crust," the homepage explained. That mouth-watering description is enough to get us on a plane to Portland as soon as possible.
In addition to Ken's Artisan Pizza, there were five other pizza places in the United States that made it into Big 7 Travel's first 20. Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in Connecticut being included on the list is not exactly a shocker, considering Connecticut pizza and New Haven's reputation. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Westmont, New Jersey also placed in the first 20 spots, along with two other restaurants in San Francisco, California. We are so ready for pizza Friday this week!
