What Is Actually In 'The Superman' Burrito At Taco Bell?
Secret menu items have been popularized recently mostly on social media like TikTok and Reddit. The hashtag #secretmenu on TikTok has 1.1 billion views as of December 2022, with various "hacks" from Jersey Mike's, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell, and more. On Reddit, one user asked the public what their favorite secret menu items, and a few answers included different drinks from Sonic and Jamba Juice, animal-style burgers from In-N-Out, and a cheesy gordita crunch from Taco Bell with a Dorito taco shell in place of the regular shell.
A chili cheese burrito can be made by ordering chili and cheese to be wrapped in a tortilla is also on Taco Bell's secret menu (via Hack the Menu). The Hulk is a super simple secret menu item, and all you have to do is ask for extra guacamole in your burrito, per Hack the Menu. Sticking to the superhero theme, the Superman is another secret Taco Bell menu item. Here's what's in it and how you can order it.
Taco Bell's Superman burrito includes some tasty additions
According to Hack the Menu, the Superman burrito can be ordered at Taco Bell by asking for a cheesy double beef burrito and adding sour cream, guacamole, extra potatoes, and crispy tortilla strips inside the burrito. Unfortunately, this hack may be difficult to try as Taco Bell no longer has the cheesy double beef burrito at any of its locations, per Taco Bell's burrito menu. Interestingly, the cheesy double beef burrito can still be found on Taco Bell's website and has the option to order it, so it may still be a menu item at some locations. The cheesy double beef burrito came with seasoned beef, reduced-fat sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, three-cheese blend, seasoned rice, and fiesta strips.
If you aren't able to order a cheesy double beef burrito, the closest comparison is the beefy melt burrito, which has all of the same ingredients as the cheesy double beef burrito except it doesn't have double the amount of beef (via Taco Bell). So, if you go that route to order your Superman burrito, you'll order a beefy melt burrito and ask the employees to add extra beef, sour cream, guacamole, and potatoes. YouTube user Peep THIS Out! reviewed the Superman burrito and described it as being "very heavy" and having "classic flavors of Taco Bell." Out of 10, they ended up scoring it with a nine, saying it's "deserving of a Superman name."
