You Can Make Yourself A Drink Kate Hudson Named After Her Mom
Actress Kate Hudson has been in the limelight most recently with her upcoming movie, "Glass Onion," coming to Netflix on December 23, as well as audio from her film "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" going viral on TikTok. The star recently graced Sean Evans' "Hot Ones" online show on "First We Feast," where she answered pressing questions ranging from her start in acting to her take on what truly makes a good rom-com (per YouTube).
But perhaps the most burning request was when Evans asked the Academy Award-nominated actress to share her signature holiday cocktail recipe, referencing one of her many passion projects, King Street Vodka. This was all done while the star was enjoying a wing with the show's very own "Los Calientes" hot sauce — though the sauce only hits the medium Scoville level. Nonetheless, Hudson didn't pause when answering the question — her go-to holiday drink is actually named after her mom.
This cocktail is an exception to Hudson's bourbon preference
In her "Hot Ones" interview, Kate Hudson noted that her go-to holiday drink was vodka based, so that it could be made with her signature Santa Barbara-distilled product or with any store-bought vodka brand.
If you want to try it out for yourself, for one serving, Hudson uses two ounces of vodka combined with equal parts lychee juice, one ounce of cranberry juice, and a dash of orange bitters. This gives the fruity beverage a soft pink color, making it the perfect holiday refresher to sip on between appetizers and the entree.
The movie star stated that her mom absolutely loves the drink, and thus gave it the name, "Goldie's Mad Dash." Hudson states that the drink's name perfectly encapsulates her mom's spunky personality. Although she is typically a fan of bourbon – which is known for its more deep and earthy flavors — during the colder months, this fruity and sweet cocktail is definitely the exception. Of course, if you much prefer a bourbon drink this season, you'll want to try out one of these bourbon cocktails to make this winter.
