Wendy's New Peppermint Frosty Is Finally On The Menu

You may have heard the rumors or read about it on social media, thanks to a Reddit post from September 2022 that claimed Wendy's would be introducing a new flavor Frosty in November: peppermint! Well, it's November, and you'll be happy to know the rumors were true. According to CNN Business, Wendy's will begin selling peppermint-flavored Frosty on November 15 for a limited time.

If you've been keeping track, this is the fifth Frosty flavor the chain has introduced, including the original chocolate(ish) flavor and the latest summer addition, strawberry. Speaking of the Strawberry Frosty... if you're a fan, you might be sad to learn that the new peppermint flavor will replace the strawberry flavor, USA Today reports. The Chocolate Frosty will still be available though.

The Peppermint Frosty will be available at all Wendy's locations throughout the holiday season, until the end of the year. After all, what would Christmas be without peppermint, right?

Ice cream lovers have been enjoying Wendy's Frosty since 1965, when the original flavor was a mixture of chocolate and vanilla, according to a Wendy's blog. It seems a bit backward, but the vanilla flavor without chocolate wasn't added to the menu until 2006, as QRSWeb explains.

In celebration of the chain's 50th anniversary, it also started selling the Birthday Cake Frosty on November 15, 2019, as a limited-edition flavor, according to Newsweek. And over the summer of 2022, the chain delighted customers with the introduction of Strawberry Frosty. Wendy's Chief Marketing Officer Carl Loredo said in a statement that it was the "most-requested" flavor for the summer (per TODAY).

And now, we're just days away from the launch of the new peppermint flavor. "Folks enjoyed the Strawberry Frosty enough that we knew it was important to get after another flavor and one that would tie well with the holidays," Loredo told CNN Business. The new Peppermint Frosty will be available to order in stores or via the app on November 15, aligning with the date that the first Wendy's restaurant opened (via Wendy's).
