The Festive Christmas Dish Selena Gomez Made With Jamie Oliver On Selena + Chef
During the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, there were many TV shows we could watch from the comfort of our homes. And one of those was the wholesome "Selena + Chef," made by Selena Gomez and HBO Max (via Decider). The show premiered on August 2020 because Gomez wanted to sharpen her cooking skills via video calls with celebrity chefs. In the show, chefs teach Gomez how to prepare a myriad of tasty dishes, and she then donates $10,000 to a charity selected by the chefs.
So it's a win-win-win situation, from the chefs choosing the charity, over Gomez learning how to cook better, to the viewers acquiring many cooking-related recipes while watching the feel-good cooking show. And some of the celebrity chefs who appeared on the show include the likes of Nancy Silverton, Candice Kumai, and Gordon Ramsay (per IMDb). And in Season 3, Episode 10, Gomez was joined by the famous Jamie Oliver, who taught her how to make a festive Christmas dish (via Rotten Tomatoes).
Selena Gomez and Jamie Oliver made a roasted chicken
Selena Gomez invited Jamie Oliver to help her make a roasted chicken, along with a delicious dessert called Eton mess (per HBO Max). Eton mess usually consists of meringue, whipped cream, and strawberry sauce (via BBC Good Food). However, Gomez and Oliver decided to go with chocolate sauce for their Eton mess, as per HBO Max. As for the holiday chicken, they flavored it with red chile, preserved lemons, rosemary, and pomegranate juice. It's a different type of Christmas dish, but a delicious one nonetheless.
During the episode, Oliver was worried that Gomez would cut her fingers or mess up her white sweater while cutting the pomegranate, but all went well in the end. Oliver was so enthusiastic that he shared a clip from the episode on his Instagram account, and said "I had such a blast cooking with @selenagomez." The chef's followers were quick to comment, saying things such as "Loved watching this!!" and "I have to finish watching this now." It seems like most people loved the recipe, and if you're feeling festive as well, try to make the chicken dish in your own kitchen while following Gomez's and Oliver's steps.
