Apparently You Can Buy 'Original' Dunkin' Coffee Swirls On The Black Market
If you're a coffee drinker, then you know how important it is to get your cup of joe in the morning. According to the National Coffee Association, 66% of American adults consume coffee every day, with more than three-fourths of these consumers making coffee at home. That doesn't sound like a bad idea, considering one superfan spends more than $1,500 a year grabbing coffee from Starbucks every day (via CNBC). On the other hand, brewing up your own cup of coffee before you commute to work costs an average of just $85 a year, equating major savings for your bank account.
Still, there's something about ordering a flavorful and freshly brewed caffeinated concoction that many coffee drinkers can't get out of their head — especially if they have a penchant for coffee shops' proprietary flavor blends. Dunkin', for one, serves a variety of unique flavor shots and flavor swirls that usually can't be found anywhere else besides its shops. Now, though, customers who want to save money by recreating their favorite Dunkin' coffee drinks at home may be in luck.
This website claims to sell Dunkin' swirls and flavor shots
Don't let the words "black market" scare you off. Thanks to coffee lovers on Reddit, Dunkin' fans have learned that there's an online store claiming to sell original Dunkin' coffee swirls (similar to flavored creamers) and additional add-ins for shipping. Based in New York City, Flavors 4 Coffee offers online customers a plethora of classic Dunkin' swirls, including brown sugar cinnamon, vanilla bean Coolatta, cake batter, butter pecan, and caramel in pump bottles. The website also offers various flavor shots, including blueberry, coconut, hazelnut, raspberry, toasted almond, and vanilla. Most of the 64-ounce swirl bottles range from $60 to $70, while the 30-ounce flavor shot bottles are priced at $40 to $50.
If you'd rather not buy and store a huge jug of Dunkin' coffee creamer in your kitchen, though, you can always try a copycat recipe to recreate your favorite drinks at home. The Dunkin' signature latte recipe has a caramel sauce made with cashew butter, coconut oil, and maple syrup (plus whipped cream on top), while a copycat Dunkin' frozen matcha latte comes together with little more than matcha powder and vanilla ice cream.
