Why One Man Married A Can Of Mtn Dew

On October 5, 2022, Thomas Rank of Avon, Indiana, entered the Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas, but he wasn’t about to marry the love of his life. Instead, Rank tied the knot with a can of Hard Mtn Dew after the drink’s parent company, Boston Beer Company, offered the ultimate proposal in a press release — “Do you love HARD MTN DEW enough to marry it?”
The company invited the drink’s biggest fans to submit an original personalized wedding proposal on why they should be the one to win the love of a can of Hard Mtn Dew, as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Vegas. Rank was chosen as “the one,” and he and a person of honor were flown to Vegas for his non-legally-binding union.
Along with the ceremony and a reception at a Las Vegas club, Rank also scored a two-night stay in a swanky Vegas suite, a supply of Hard Mtn Dew for the celebrations, and $1,000 cash. In an interview, Rank said of his experience, “I can say I am the first person ever to marry a can of Hard Mtn Dew.”
