What Happened To Fat Ass Fudge After Shark Tank?
By JULIA MULLANEY
In 2012, Donna McCue appeared on “Shark Tank” to introduce her company, Fat Ass Fudge, which makes gluten- and lactose-free versions of the classic confection. McCue sought a $250,000 investment in exchange for a 5% stake, but couldn’t get the Sharks on board — did the company find success afterward, or did the rough start fudge its chances?
Ten years after its "Shark Tank" appearance, Fat Ass Fudge is owned not by Donna McCue, but by Linda Johnson and her company Chocology Unlimited. Fat Ass Fudge is sold on Chocology's website and its brick-and-mortar location in NY’s Stony Brook; since purchasing the brand, Johnson has added two new flavors, s'mores and cappuccino.
As of 2022, Fat Ass Fudge is sold in eight varieties, and Johnson is even on good terms with "Shark Tank." She attended the Sprout Pharmaceutical National Sales Conference alongside other "Shark Tank" entrepreneurs, and she said she is "honored" to be a part of the "Shark Tank" community, even though Fat Ass Fudge was rejected at first.
