Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • ½ cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon stone ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
Directions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil on a skillet and brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess oil.
  2. Add the chopped pepper and onions to the skillet. When the onions are translucent, add the garlic.
  3. While you are browning the meat, combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl (tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, and spices & seasonings), and mix until combined.
  4. After you add the garlic to the beef, pour the sauce into the skillet. Allow to cook for at least 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  5. Serve immediately on rolls.
