- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- ½ cup bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon stone ground mustard
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil on a skillet and brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess oil.
- Add the chopped pepper and onions to the skillet. When the onions are translucent, add the garlic.
- While you are browning the meat, combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl (tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, and spices & seasonings), and mix until combined.
- After you add the garlic to the beef, pour the sauce into the skillet. Allow to cook for at least 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Serve immediately on rolls.
